Ingredients
Sugared Cranberries:
1 c sugar
1 c water
2 c cranberries
½ c sugar for sugaring the cranberries
Cocktail:
1-1/2 oz Unsweetened cranberry juice
1 to 1-1/2 oz simple syrup (reserved from sugared cranberries)
1-1/2 oz Jameson Irish whiskey
3 oz Ginger beer
Ice
Garnish:
1 rosemary spring
1 orange slice
3 sugared cranberries
Instructions
Start by making the sugared cranberries and cranberry simple syrup. Bring the sugar and water to a simmer until the sugar dissolves. Cool slightly. Pour over cranberries. Allow to sit overnight. Drain cranberries, reserving the simple syrup. Allow the cranberries to sit on a baking sheet until they become tacky. Roll the cranberries in sugar and place on a dry baking sheet.
Now let’s mix the drink. Fill a copper mug with ice.
Pour in the cranberry juice, simple syrup, whiskey, and ginger beer.
Garnish with an orange slice and sugared cranberries on a cocktail toothpick. And a sprig of rosemary.
