How To: Make Pumpkin Puree

A fresh pumpkin puree that’s easy to make and will take your pumpkin pie completely over the top.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes
Servings: 3 -4 c per pumpkin

Ingredients
  

  • Pie pumpkins

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cut pumpkins in half. Scrape out the seeds.
  3. Place cut side up on a foil lined baking sheet. Bake for an hour or so until fork tender.
  4. Cut the pumpkin into wedges and remove the skin either by peeling or with a paring knife.
  5. Cut into one and one and a half inch pieces and puree in a food processor until smooth.
  6. Save unused puree in plastic bags in the freezer.
