Creamy Sweet Corn and Roasted Poblano Chowder

September 10, 2016 by Dana Leave a Comment

My sister in law got confirmed last year and after confirmation we went out to lunch at Barrio to celebrate.  Most of us tried a variety of their street tacos but I also got a bowl of their Fresh Corn Chowder which they describe as “fresh corn soup is served with roasted corn and roasted…

Chicken Tortilla Soup

February 4, 2016 by Dana 1 Comment

Happy National Homemade Soup Day! I LOVE soup.  It’s so versatile and has so many different varieties, it’s pretty easy to find something for everyone.  The best part of soup for me is that the leftovers just get better and better as the flavors meld together.  It doesn’t take any longer to make a big…

June 13, 2015 by Tory Leave a Comment

Orange soup? I don’t think I have ever seen fruit in soup before. This reminds me of my Dad’s “man rule”: No fruit in beer. I wonder if it applies to soup too? Soup and red wine sort of go out of season as the weather warms up. This makes me sad because I love red…

Cheesy, Chunky Cauliflower Soup

January 8, 2015 by Tory Leave a Comment

One unfortunate side effect of getting the family together for the holidays is getting the family’s germs together too. It seems that every holiday season I fall victim to the season’s latest respiratory virus. This season was no different, the last day of my two week vacation I woke up in the middle of the…
