Welcome to Gravel & Dine!

Gravel-Road

My sister and I have been talking for a long time about finding a place to store and share all of our recipes, and that is how Gravel & Dine was born!

We wanted to develop some content before we actually started the blog so we had a few ‘blogging nights’ where we did something we love to do, we cooked together.  The new twist is that we took pictures as we did it, for the [still just an idea] food blog!

The hardest part was picking the name and we went through quite a few, playing with our names, a sister theme, something from where we grew up, until on one of those blogging nights, Tory was telling me about this song she heard with the line “gravel and wine”.  We loved it, but the blog is about food not wine.  Well as it turns out dine rhymes with wine and it brings in the food too.

But how does gravel fit in?  That doesn’t sound like food!  Tory & I grew up in the country, in Northern MN, and we lived….down a gravel road.  The gravel piece just fit bringing in our heritage and…

…So “gravel and dine” was born!

We’re planning to post about food we love, recipes we created, recipes we found on from other sources (given credit of course) and using this blog as a repository for recipes to share with each other and with you!

I hope you enjoy!

Dana

Hi girls, the blog(what a word) looks good. The story of the beginning was interesting. What really makes the recipes look so appetizing are the great photos. It makes it so easy looking and appealing that I bet people will really want to try to do the same in their kitchen. Way to go and thanks for getting Nana in the loop, it is right up her alley
