Last year for Christmas (like 2013 last year), Arby’s sold their sauce over the counter and Santa only bought us one bottle! So after we figured out how to make the Perfect Roast Beef for the sandwiches we indulged in make-at-home Arby’s sandwiches until the bottle ran out, which happened way too fast. Not wanting to give up what was a really quick weeknight meal we figured out how to make a copycat Arby’s sauce!
You’ll want to make this sauce and then head on over to Copycat Arby’s Sandwiches to see how I get the meat and the bun nice and warm.
Here’s what you need for the sauce:
To make the sauce mix all the ingredients together and stir. It’s very important here to taste and adjust as you go with this recipe. The recipe is as close as I could get to the measurements I use, but I always end up tinkering a little bit as I taste. Let the sauce chill for an hour or overnight for the flavors to meld, you can also keep it in the fridge for a few weeks.
I recommend heating the sauce up to room temperature before slathering it all over a Copycat Arby’s Roast Beef Sandwich.
- 1 c ketchup
- 2 T + 2 t cider vinegar
- 1 t white vinegar
- ½ t garlic powder
- ½ t onion powder
- 1 t black pepper
- 1-1/2 t hot sauce (I used Frank’s red hot)
- 2 t Worcestershire
- ¼ t cloves
- ½ T corn syrup
- Mix ingredients together. Chill for an hour or overnight. Keeps for a few weeks in the fridge.

I just made this sauce, I LOVE the Arby sauce flavor on my roast beef. I think it turned out pretty close but would say not to use so much pepper. It taste like a spicy/peppery version of Arby sauce.
