How to: remove corn silks

We LOVE corn on the cob.  Not only on the cob and slathered with butter, but also grilled in salsas, fresh in salads, turned into cream corn – you get the picture.  And this is the time of year where you can start getting locally grown sweet corn, and if you can, buy it from a roadside stand where the farmer picked it that day – even better! One problem with corn on the cob though is those darn silks.  Especially when you are eating it off the cob, I hate all those silks that get in my teeth.  So I tend to spend a ridiculous amount of time picking every last silk out.  There has to be a better way!

The secret weapon is something you can pick up in a 6 pack at the dollar store – a toothbrush!

After you take the husk off the corn just gently brush with the tooth brush.  This pull up those difficult silks that like to hide between the kernels.
